North Dakota Women's Health Connection

The University of North Dakota Department of Family & Community Medicine’s National Center of Excellence in Women’s Health will host our annual North Dakota Women’s Health Connection. The free-of-charge event is open to the public and will be held on the second floor of the Memorial Union on the UND campus. 

Our 2009 Connection keynote speaker Patty Purpur, an outstanding athlete and a Grand Forks native, is a nationally recognized health and fitness expert. Patty is currently the Senior Vice President of Plus One Health Management, Inc. and a member of the California Governor's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports as a Fitness Ambassador. In addition to a keynote address, our 2009 Connection will offer a choice of five breakout sessions to participants: bone health, nutrition, legal and financial health, dance, and the spirit.

An orthopedic surgeon from Grand Forks will address bone health in women and girls; nutrition will focus on healthy eating; a lawyer and a banker will provide information on and discussion of issues pertinent to women’s well-being; dance will appeal to everyone with a combined presentation ranging from ballet to ballroom to line dancing; and spiritual health will be addressed through Koinonia. All are welcome to attend. The first 300 registrants will receive a complimentary Connection tote bag and water bottle.
