    Join artists for a behind-the-scenes look at the production Soulful Motion on Friday, April 27 at 6:30 pm in the UND Burtness Theatre Lobby. Artists Job Christenson, Bernie Thomas, Brent Radeke, and company dancers will discuss the development of an original composition for dance. Light refreshments will be served. The event is free to ticket-holders of the performance. The performance begins a 7:30 p.m. Backstage with the Arts is a program of the North Valley Arts Council, and is sponsored by Happy Harry's Bottle Shops and Dakota Harvest Bakers. The North Dakota Ballet Company presents Soulful Motion on April 27 & 28 at 7:30 p.m. at the UND Burtness Theatre. Soulful Motion is an original work featuring the choreography of Theresa Knox, Job Christenson, and Mary Noel, and music by Bernie Thomas. The work is based on the Hans Christian Anderson story of The Little Match Girl, in which a young girl freezes to death while trying to sell matches to support her family. Set in contemporary America, Soulful Motion addresses the themes of poverty, abuse, street living, and visions of the afterlife. Tickets can be purchased by calling (701) 777-2857.
